3 DECISIONS THAT HAVE HELPED ME GET MORE DISCIPLINED

If you've read my other posts, you know I struggled through January to stay disciplined.  It was really rough.

Introduction

I did better this month, but it was far from perfect.

Whereas January's lesson was "how to stay focused with the world throws you curve balls", February's lesson was "just take some steps every day".

So I compared how many habits I completed in January compared to Feb.

January - 44/224 (Completed 44 actions out of 224 = 18% of the actions I wanted to take)

February - 98/275 (Completed 98 actions out of 275 =36% of the actions I wanted to take)

That's a whopping 122% increase.  (I hope I calculated that right.)

I used an equation Google gave me.

98-44=54

54/44 = 1.22

1.22 x 100 = 122% increase

Three Decisions:

Here are three decisions I made this month to help me become more disciplined in February.  I will continue to use these tips every for the rest of the year.

1)  Review my calendar and habits for the day.

Believe it or not they do change sometimes, depending on what I have going on.  January I had less habits I wanted to be consistent with than I did in February.

2)  I have a checklist for every day.

I have divided my habits into three categories:  AM, PM, and sometime during the day (habits to fit in whenever depending on what I have going on that day).

3)  Review my habits at night.

If there are any I missed, am I able to get them done before bed?  If so, I do them.  If not, I give myself grace.

Creating discipline in my life is not a race, it is not a do it or fail thing, and is not something I can do on my own. It is something I need to do every day for the rest of my life.  I rely on Christ every day to walk with me through this journey.  I don't rely on my own strength.  Some days are really hard.  Giving up is not an option.  I try to tap into my goals and how I want my life to look diferent at the end of 2025.

Conclusion

I realized having a month to month metric is motivating and encourage.  It's a number to shoot for and a goal to stretch for each month.  This is the bonus tip

The goal next month will be to increase my actions by at least 123%.

Call to Action

Not everyone's goal for the year is to increase their discipline.  Maybe your word for the year is beloved, forgiven, or redeemed.  Regardless which word you choose for this year, you will still need discipline to follow-through with the actions steps you need to take for this year.

Journal about these questions:

What areas are you struggling with in your life or business?

What actions do you need to take to be more disciplined in these areas?

How will you track your success?

P.S.. Haven't figured out your word for 2025 yet?  Grab my free guide "Unlock Your Word for 2025 - Align Your Business, Life and Success".

P.S.S.  If you already know your word, take some time to write in your journal what daily habits you need to make to become the future self you want to be and who God has called you to be..
