I AM JUSTIFIED - Romans 5:1

"Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us."

DEVOTIONAL

To be justified means to be declared righteous in God’s sight. It’s not because of anything we have done, but solely because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. Through His death and resurrection, we have been made right with God. This is a powerful truth because it means that our past sins no longer define us, and we stand before God blameless, covered by His grace.

Romans 5:1 makes it clear that our justification is through faith. We are justified because we believe in Jesus and His sacrifice for us. It is not based on our works or perfection; it’s a gift from God. Jesus paid the price for our sins, and through faith, we receive the righteousness that comes from Him. This allows us to experience peace with God, no longer separated by sin but reconciled through Christ.

Being justified also means that we are no longer condemned. In Romans 8:1, Paul reminds us, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” This is a liberating truth. No matter what we have done, no matter our past mistakes, we are justified and free in Christ. Our identity is no longer tied to our failures or guilt, but to the righteousness of Christ.

When we live in the truth of our justification, it changes how we see ourselves and how we relate to others. We no longer need to strive for approval or try to earn God’s love; it has already been given to us freely.

And because of this, we can extend that same grace and forgiveness to others, reflecting God’s love in everything we do.
