A NEW MONTH, A NEW ME: I AM DISCIPLINED!
January came in like a wrecking ball!
I had all these plans to get disciplined this year and was excited to see my progress for January. But then life threw some curve balls at us and I was BARELY disciplined at all! Everything fell apart. I was starting to get big anxiety because I felt like I was a month behind. Everything bad seemed to be happening.
If you didn't see my last blog, let me catch you up real quick on January:
- family member fell and broker her hip - Jan 4th
- same family member had surgery on my birthday - Jan 6th
- same family member transferred to rehab facility 45 mins away - Jan 8th
- travel every day for 9 days straight to see family member
- beyond exhausted and trying to hold it all together - huge family meltdown - Jan 12
- spent 15 extremely painful hours passing a kidney stone - Jan 18th
- grandkids come back home sick - Jan 24th (50/50 custody with their fathers)
- I get sick - Jan 27th
- my mom and sister come down with COVID. My grandchildren, daughter and myself are negative. - Jan 30th (we all live together)
January's lesson was "how do you stay disciplined when life throws you curve balls?"
So here we are, a new month. New hope, new expectations, new found determination.
I can go into February with new hope that I can be disciplined because I recently saw a quote that really turned my perspective around regarding Janauary. The quote was "what if everything is falling apart to come together in a way you can't even guess?" - author unkown.
1 Corinthians 2:9 immediately came to my mind when I read that quote.
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him."
So I made my plan for the week: business and personal. I wrote down the habits I want to be disciplined in this week. I am confident I can do it. I will report back next week on how I did. Hopefully the fact that I am documenting my journey throughout this year, through this blog, will hold me more accountable to do what I say I am going to do!
My habits for this week:
- read my Bible every day (going through the four gospels)
- drink Happy Juice every day
- drink my juice shot every day with added oregano oil and black seed oil
- drink 40 oz water every day (will eventually increase to 80 oz a day)
- do some form of exercise every day (at least 30 mins/day)
- do my facial care every night
- castro oil pack every night
- follow nightly meal plan
- weekly fast on Wednesday
- stick to budget
- read and give feedback in focus group for a dating book I am reading
So there is it. A new month, a new me!
P.S. Have you picked your word of the year for 2025 yet? Not sure where to start? I will be setting up a free guide to help you this week. So stay tuned!
